Starting a business in the midst of a global pandemic may not sound like everyone’s cup of tea, but that’s what Bridgwater’s Hayley Wright has done.

The 28-year-old has launched her new venture, Hayley’s Beauty Studio, in one of the rooms in the Twenty21One Salon in Bridgwater High Street.

A former lecturer at Weston College, Hayley said; “Like many people, lockdown drove my industry to a halt.

“As a mum of two, it was a bit of a worry - but I want to set an example for my kids, by not delaying my dreams of setting-up in my own space.

“The long-term goal is to set-up a training academy, so this is my first step.

“I’m so excited to get back to work and look forward to helping people feel amazing, particularly during these challenging times.”

Hayley has represented the UK at the 2011 World Skills Competition in Beauty Therapy in London, where she was awarded a Medallion of Excellence.

Hayley also featured in the ‘This is Bridgwater’ film produced by Somerset Film which aimed to raise aspirations of young people in Bridgwater.

To celebrate the launch on Tuesday, August 11, Hayley’s Beauty Studio will be giving away a free treatment of choice to someone who deserves a post lockdown treat.
