A MAN is in a stable condition after being stabbed several times in an incident last night.

Police are investigating after the victim, who is in his 20s, 'received a number of stab wounds' during an incident in Vallis Way, Frome, at about 11.45pm on Friday (July 24).

"The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene, before being conveyed by ambulance to hospital," said an Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson.

"He is believed to be in a stable condition and his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

"The suspects had left the scene prior to police arrival."

CCTV and house-to-house enquiries are being carried out over the weekend, police said, while extra patrols will also take place.
