THERE was more encouraging news with the release of the latest coronavirus figures for Somerset.
NHS England revealed there had been no deaths from Covid-19 in the county council area in the 24 hours to 5pm yesterday (Monday).
And there were just two new confirmed cases of the virus in the county over the same period.
It follows figures released yesterday showing no deaths and one new case.
The latest new cases were in Sedgemoor and Somerset West and Taunton districts.
Overall there have been 65 confirmed cases in Mendip (no change); 221 in Sedgemoor (an increase of one); 306 in Somerset West and Taunton (up one); and 197 in South Somerset.
That adds up to a total of 789 confirmed cases recorded in the county.
