A FIVE-year-old boy has raised more than £350 for the NHS by cycling a mile every day for a month.

Lincoln Moss, of Highbridge, initially planned to ride his bike every day for 30 days to raise £200 for the NHS but after just a few days of cycling he hit his target.

Jodie Moss, Lincoln's mum, said the five-year-old was inspired to start cycling after seeing images of nurses and doctors wearing PPE on the frontline.

"We started making scrap books at the start of lockdown," Jodie said.

"At one point I asked local key workers for photos of them to include in the book. People sent me loads of photos for Lincoln and Abel.

"Lincoln was showing a particular interest in the photos of people working in hospital wearing full PPE.

"He actually said 'I want to do something nice to make the doctors and nurses happy. The doctors and nurses are working extra hard now.'

"We listed a few ideas and a charity bike ride was something they both felt they wanted to do."

Jodie said Lincoln and his brother, Abel, four, have been riding more than one mile a day and said they have no plans to stop cycling.

"I am extremely really proud of him for always being so thoughtful and kind especially during times like this," Jodie said.

"Myself and his Dad are amazed at how well Lincoln and Abel have done every day.

"They are always so keen to get out on their bike to complete the ride. We can't wait to see how long they can keep it up for.

"I would definitely encourage more younger children to have a go at fundraising.

"It has really given them something to focus on, and they are so pleased with themselves."

"We are very lucky as the have been able to do most of their bike rides right on our doorstep, the boys favourite place to ride is along the riverbank.

"Although the original plan was to ride every day for 30 days, we are at day 28 and I don't think either Lincoln and Abel want to stop anytime soon.

"So far they have raised £385 and they really want to reach £400 so if you can please donate."
