THE woman behind a 'cloak and dagger' operation to publicly thank key workers has been revealed.

In the past couple of month a large board has appeared in a village thanking people going the extra mile during the coronavirus crisis.

Somerset County Gazette:

Overnight the message on the board at the roundabout at Cotford St Luke would change - but the sentiment has remained the same.

It was a message to thank people doing vital work at this time.

Somerset County Gazette:

RaeRae Green has now come forward to admit she was behind the initiative.

She said: "OK, I've been hiding a secret and I need to come clean.

"Over the last couple of months I have created and maintained a big anonymous board in our village thanking key people from the residents.

Somerset County Gazette:

"I'd scurry down with my hood up after dark, drag it back to mine and change who the board was thanking and then pop it back on the roundabout.

"I've had to take it in for a bit as it's too windy but it'll be up again shortly."

Somerset County Gazette:

RaeRae said she decided to admit to being behind the board after a photo of it was included in a retweet by The Royal Family.

RaeRae added: "I'm actually really proud of what I do for charity and community.

Somerset County Gazette:

"But mostly proud of how many people have said the board has made them smile and they've looked forward to checking if it had changed on their walk."
