PLANS for 40 holiday cottages in Bridgwater to be used as accommodation for Hinkley C workers have been given the green light.
S Notaro Ltd which owns the Lakeview Holiday Cottages complex on Notaro Way near Huntworth submitted the plans in March.
The Lakeview properties had previously only had permission for use exclusively as tourist accommodation.
However following the approval of Sedgemoor District Council this week, the 40 homes will now be able to be used as accommodation for Hinkley C workers and their families.
The site comprises of 28 three-bedroom houses and 12 two-bedroom houses and is accessed from Notaro Way, close to the Bridgwater South motorway junction.
The plans had the backing of North Petherton Town Council on the grounds that it would reduce the demand on housing in the area, while the developers says the site is 'ideally suited' for HPC workers as a park and ride facility will be available from J24 of the M5.
