COUNTY Gazette readers have responded in amazing fashion after we teamed up with Love Musgrove's Covid-19 Response Fund appeal.

More than £1,500 was donated directly by readers using our form printed last week - but the charity still needs your help to purchase essentials for staff at Musgrove Park Hospital.

A spokesperson for the Love Musgrove appeal said: "Love Musgrove was thrilled to announce that within two weeks of launching the Covid-19 Response Fund, the community of Somerset has donated over £20,000 to support staff and patients at Musgrove Park Hospital.

"£1,615 was donated directly from County Gazette readers, and this will go some of the way to helping Love Musgrove

"One of the first things on the list for Love Musgrove to purchase is digital radios, these will be used for patients in isolation and the elderly so that they can have a bit of company during a difficult time.

"The charity is looking to purchase more than 150, so still needs your help.

"Next on the list is food to create meals and food parcels for staff so they can focus on the important job at hand. Support with cooking and packing is coming from Taunton School, whose staff have rallied to the cause.

"Money donated is to be used right at the heart of the Community, supporting doctors, nurses, porters, cleaners, health care assistants, midwives, admin staff and more, as well as help to provide the best care to patients when they need it most.

"Your support means the world to staff at Musgrove Park Hospital."
