THE roof of a property was damaged after a fire in Bridgwater.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called by a member of the public to Devonshire Street at 5.28pm on Sunday (March 29) who reported that the roof of their property was on fire.
Three fire engines and an aerial ladder platform from Bridgwater were immediately sent to the scene by fire control.
On arrival, the incident commander confirmed that the roof of a terraced property was well alight and got crews to work to extinguish the fire using breathing apparatus, hose reel jets, main jets, thermal imaging cameras, working at height equipment, a triple extension ladder and a roof ladder.
A spokesperson for the fire service said the fire caused 10 per cent damage to the roof of the property and a neighbouring property, along with a small amount of water damage.
