A MAN from Wolverhampton is set to face trial in Taunton after being charged with a number of offences including subjecting someone to forced labour, assault, and using controlling and coercive behaviour in Somerset over a prolonged period.

Miekel Lambert, age 26, of Clemattlee Court in Wolverhampton, appeared via video link at Taunton Crown Court on Friday charged on six counts which dated between September 2016 and February 2020.

Lambert pleaded not guilty to all of the charges, save for admitting possession of cannabis.

An application for bail was submitted for bail by Anjam Arif, appearing on behalf of Lambert, but this was denied by Judge David Ticehurst and Lambert will be remanded in custody.

Lambert is set to face a trial at Taunton Crown Court which is expected to last three days, later this year.
