QUEEN’S College is in the running for a national drama award at a ceremony in London.
Its community play, ‘For Queen’s and Country’, has been shortlisted as Outstanding Drama Initiative in the Music & Drama Education Awards which take place at the Marriott London Grosvenor Square next Wednesday (March 4).
The play ran to sell-out audiences in November 2018.
Headteacher, Dr Lorraine Earps, said: "'For Queen's and Country' was a spectacular production which brought together the whole Queen's family - both past and present - in a memorable celebration.
"Performing Arts is a hugely important part of our broader curriculum and we are delighted with this recognition."
Dr Earps will lead the Queen’s party attending the ceremony along with head of drama, Steve Eaton Evans, who researched and wrote the play which marked both the 175th anniversary of Queen’s and the centenary of World War One ending.
