GIRLS just wanna have fun and that is most certainly the aim for Julie Coombe and John MacIsaac’s new show.

Girls Just Want to Have Fun takes no prisoners in its roller coaster comedy romp through everything life might throw at the modern day woman, including dating, relationships, breakups, fashion, dieting, chocolate, more dieting, sex, going out, staying in, wine, more wine and of course, men.

And, for added entertainment, the entire show is set in a karaoke bar.

Many big pop anthems will be featured including 9 to 5, We Are Family, Get The Party Started, I’m In the Mood For Dancing and of course Cyndi Lauper’s classic Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, ensuring by the end of the night everyone will be dancing – and singing – in the aisles.

The show is produced by Red Entertainment, written by Julie Coombe and John MacIsaac, directed by John MacIsaac and choreographed by Hayley Jane Simmons.

Matt Brinkler, Executive Producer at Red Entertainment, said: “Our goal is to bring people to the theatre for a great night out. Hormonal Housewives was so successful that we jumped at the chance of working with the writers again on a world premiere of new work.

“ Julie Coombe and John MacIsaac have come up with an absolute cracker of a show – it’s musical, it’s enormous fun and it’s very entertaining. We’re also very excited about working in partnership with a theatre for the first time since we founded Red six years ago – Stafford Gatehouse are great and we’ll be opening Girls Just Wanna Have Fun there on April 10th.”

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun will be at The McMillan Theatre on April 18. To book visit mcmillantheatre.com or call 01278 556677.
