Police are carrying out an investigation after an SUV was found abandoned on its side along a track in Dorset.

The silver Honda HR-V, which had both of its number plates removed, was discovered along Watery Lane at Upton.

This area is close to Frenches Farm Natural Greenspace and the RSPB Lytchett Fields nature reserve.

A Dorset Police spokesman confirmed: "The vehicle was found without any number plates.

"It also did not have valid insurance or MOT.

"The vehicle was recovered at around 11am on Tuesday, February 18.

South West Farmer:

"Enquiries are ongoing to locate who may have been driving the vehicle.

"No arrests have been made."

The initial report of the abandoned vehicle was made just after 5pm on Monday, February 17.
