ONE of Bridgwater’s best-known industrial landmarks came crashing down this week in 1980.

The 80ft chimney located behind what was the Post Office supplies depot in Bristol Road came tumbling down.

The chimney and boiler house were used from the 1930’s for the steam processing of carpets.

The site was then cleared to create more storage space for the Post Office supplies depot.
