A man in his 60s has died after falling in a river in south Powys.
Dyfed-Powys Police said the man was seen entering the River Tawe near Gorsedd Park in Ystradgynlais at about 10am on Sunday, February 16.
He was rescued from the water almost seven miles downstream near Trebanos Rugby Club.
However, despite the best efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin and HM Coroner have been informed.
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman said the man's death is not being treated as suspicious, or linked to the adverse weather.
Brecon and Radnorshire MP Fay Jones paid tribute to the man on Facebook.
She said: "My thoughts are with the family and friends of the gentleman who passed away in Ystradgynlais earlier today.
"Very sad news but I would also like to thank the emergency services who have been working so hard over the last 24 hours."
