RESIDENTS at a retirement development in Somerset are to welcome a special guest next month from a slightly different setting - the Glastonbury Festival.

Festival founder, Michael Eavis, will be at Churchill Retirement Living's St Athelm Lodge development in Wells for a talk on the festival, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this summer.

The event will take place on March 10.

St Athelm Lodge is a retirement development of 31 one and two bedroom apartments specially designed for the over 60s, where a thriving community has taken shape and only a small number of apartments remain available to buy.

Jo Ridehalgh, Churchill’s regional marketing executive, said: “We’re delighted that Michael Eavis will be visiting St Athelm Lodge, and we’re really looking forward to welcoming people to hear him talk about the remarkable history of the Glastonbury Festival, an event which has brought people to the area from all over the world for the last 50 years.

"It’s also the perfect opportunity for everyone to come and meet our apartment owners and see all that St Athelm Lodge has to offer.

"Interesting and sociable events like this are what the retirement living lifestyle is all about, and with only a few of our low maintenance apartments remaining we’re encouraging interested purchasers to act now to avoid missing out.”
