THE latest list of MPs' financial interests has been released.

The Register of Members' Financial Interests is intended to details of investments, roles or benefits which 'others might reasonably consider to influence his or her actions of words' as an MP, according to the Parliamentary website.

The register - which details items including property owned and paid-for trips received - is maintained by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards.

Among those listed by Somerset MPs are golf club memberships, tickets to the tennis at Wimbledon and a £1,000-a-month salary for eight hours' work. 

Interests remain on the register for 12 months after they have expired.

Below are the details from Somerset MPs...

Marcus Fysh

Yeovil MP Marcus Fysh received a £2,000 donation from property development and agricultural firm Hopkins Estates Ltd.

He also embarked on a trip to Saudi Arabia for a 'Parliamentary fact-finding visit' to facilities of Saudi Aramco, the national petroleum and natural gas company, to the value of £7,608.02.

He continues to hold shares (over 15%) in West Sea Investments Ltd and in Samfire Proprietary Ltd.


James Heappey

Wells MP James Heappey received donations totalling £10,000 from investment firm The Cayzer Trust Company Ltd, based in London.

He also received donations from James Drummond (£3,000), Neil Record (£5,000) and the Dunchurch Lodge Stud Company (£2,500).

Membership of Burnham & Berrow Golf Club was also listed as a donation in kind, valued at £1,050.

A speech at the Guild of Travel Management Companies Overseas Conference in the Netherlands last year saw accommodation, conference and transfers valued at £510 accepted, while attendance at the PCMA Convening Leaders conference in Chicago saw registration, travel and accommodation valued at £1,197.12 accepted.

Ian Liddell-Grainger

The MP for Bridgwater and West Somerset simply lists the fact he employs his wife, Jill, as a 'Parliamentary Assistant'.


John Penrose

Weston-super-Mare MP Mr Penrose lists a donation from Jill Lawrie (£4,000) - believed to be his mother.

He also lists his position as a member of Priory Multi-Academy Trust, which runs a number of Somerset schools.


Rebecca Pow

The Taunton Deane MP details donations from the Royal Albert Hall - three tickets and hospitality worth £359 - and from the Lawn Tennis Association, which donated two tickets for the Wimbledon Championships, worth £370. 

She also details property ownership including a house in Somerset, another house owned jointly with her sister, 'agricultural land' owned with family members (including income from a telecoms mast) and a 10% share of ownership of a commercial premises in Somerset.

She also details her role as a council member of the Royal Bath-West Society (unpaid).

Jacob Rees-Mogg

The North East Somerset MP revealed a partnership at Somerset Capital Management LLP saw him receive payments from January to July 2019 of more than £15,000 per month - for between 20 and 30 hours each month.

He also registered payments from the Telegraph Media Group totalling £1,640 between January and July 2019.

In May 2019, he received £9,600 from LBC Radio Ltd (Global Radio) for work as a 'cover presenter'. He worked 14 hours.

An appearance on the BBC's Any Questions saw a payment of £200, while articles for the Sun and the Sun on Sunday prompted payments of £1,500 (£500 each).

In March 2019, Mr Rees-Mogg also received 12 bottles of Champagne from Global and Media and Entertainment Ltd, worth £323.52, for giving a speech at a dinner.

Payments from literary and talent agency Peters Fraser & Dunlop Ltd were declared individually.

They were: £10,000 from the Rhone Group private equity firm as 'an advance for a speaking engagement', which lasted one hour; £12,500 from Virgin Books Ltd for writing a book, which took an estimated 300 hours since 2017; £10,000 from Virgin Books upon publication of a book; £10,000 from Rhone Group for another speaking engagement, listed as taking two hours. The engagement also saw Mr Rees-Mogg receive a Churchill plate (worth £250) as a momento, plus travel and accommodation; £3,500 from Virgin Books Ltd for the audio recording of a book (22 hours).
He also received £10,000 from law firm Katten Muchin Rosenman UK LLP for speaking at an event.

Donations from individuals saw Mr Rees-Mogg receive a share of £5,000 (split between his and another Conservative association) from Captain Sayinder Pal Singh Chada, and £2,000 from Sir Henry Keswick, vice chairman of the Hong Kong Association and a prominent Conservative Party donor.

Gifts, benefits and hospitality saw Mr Rees-Mogg receive the 'services of a driver during a visit to Northern Ireland' from the North Antrim DUP Association, for a talk at the Tullyglass House Hotel, worth £420. He also received £107.99 from the same association to reimburse the costs of a flight to Belfast for the event.

His land and property portfolio (worth more than £100,000 or giving rental income of £10,000 or more) lists a 'farmhouse, land and related buildings' in Somerset and a residential property in London.

Shareholdings (over 15%) listed were in the Saliston Ltd holding company and Somerset Capital Management LLP.

The complicated set up of companies Mr Rees-Mogg is involved in is shown in the listings under the 'miscellaneous' heading.
They include 'unrenumerated director' roles for Somerset Capital Management Ltd, the parent company of Somerset Capital Management (Cayman) Ltd and Somerset Capital Management (Singapore) PTE Ltd, as well as 'unrenumerated director' roles for Saliston Ltd, a shareholder in Somerset Capital Management Ltd, 'unrenumerated director' roles with the American Trading Company (Holdings) Ltd - a holding company - and the Amercian Trading Company Ltd (property management).

Mr Rees-Mogg is also listed as a trustee of the Mitsubishi UFJ Trust Oxford Foundation, which is involved with the Oxford Union Literary and Debating Trust and the charitable activities of the Oxford Union Society.
From July 2018, a role of 'unpaid director' of Carlton Park Trustees.

David Warburton

The MP for Somerton and Frome lists a role as non-executive chair of Vouch (TripleC Consulting Ltd), a 'strategic consultancy connecting global brands and smaller technology companies'. He received £1,000 per month for the role, for eight hours per month.

Property owned (worth more than £100,000 or yielding more than £10,000 in rental income) saw Mr Warburton list a residential property in Somerset.

He also detailed shareholdings of more than 15% in Oflang Limited, a property development company, as well as the employment of his wife, Harriet Warburton, as a communications officer and personal assistant.
