Birthday announcements from care homes tend to acknowledge a resident reaching a mighty milestone, but not in this instance.

Pat Parker, an activities coordinator from Somerset Care’s Stockmoor Lodge, was the centre of attention when the home came together to celebrate her 75th birthday.

To mark the occasion, and acknowledge Pat’s contribution, she was presented with flowers and other gifts by Robin Khokhar, Somerset Care’s head of residential and nursing.

Pat has worked for Somerset Care for 11 years and came across to the new, purpose built Stockmoor Lodge from the previous Milton House.

Amazingly, Pat is also one of three generations all working at Stockmoor Lodge, with both her daughters (Katie and Kerry) and granddaughter (Madeleine) also playing key roles in the home.

When asked what has motivated her career in care for so long, Pat said: “I just love the job and love the residents, if they are happy then I am happy”.

Pat is such an integral part of Stockmoor Lodge, when she took a two week holiday last year the residents were missing her so much they had to schedule a video call.
