YET again, the Bridgwater community has demonstrated its kindness with contributions at the Christmas grotto, helping Angel Place Shopping Centre raise nearly £2,000 for two charities this festive season.

Every weekend in December saw families queueing with excited anticipation to see Santa, with the £2.50 entry fee per child being split between Elliot’s Touch and Marie Curie.

This year, there was also the added bonus of an extra date, to ensure all the good boys and girls got to see him.

Thanks to these generous shoppers, Angel Place was able to spread the festive cheer far and wide with the appeal, as well as helping to raise awareness for the causes.

A spokesperson for Angel Place, said: “We are so grateful that, once again, the town has come together to support these two great charities.

"We’ve enjoyed running the charity grotto over the years, so it’s great to see that it’s still as popular with families as it always has been.

“Time and again we are amazed by the kindness offered by members of our community, and we want to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who donated."
