WORKS to rebuild a fire hit Burnham-on-Sea pub are ‘on track’ to be completed in the Spring, the owners have confirmed.

Multiple fire crews were called to The Rosewood Pub in Love Lane, Burnham-on-Sea, at around 2.15pm on June 15 following reports of a kitchen fire.

Firefighters battled for more than two hours to bring the fire under control but sadly the pub was severely smoke, fire and heat damaged as a result of the incident.

The pub was closed after the fire but a spokesperson for Greene King, who owns the pub, said they are now in a position to submit a planning application to rebuild the venue.

“We have been working hard to assess the damage to the Rosewood pub since the fire earlier last year and we are pleased to now be in a position to submit a planning application to rebuild the pub,” the spokesperson said.

“Whilst it is too early to give an exact date for reopening, we are hoping work will be complete in Spring and we look forward to welcoming back the local community to the pub soon.”
