A MAN has been arrested after armed officers were called to reports of man who 'appeared to be carrying a pistol.'
Police were called to Morland Road at 6.22pm on Wednesday (January 8) to investigate and when they arrived they found two men acting suspiciously.
Officers searched the men and found that one of them was in possession of a knuckle duster.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police, said no firearm was located at the scene.
“We were called to Morland Road in Highbridge at 6.22pm on January 8 following reports of a man appearing to be carrying a pistol," the spokesperson said.
“Armed officers attended the scene and found two men acting suspiciously.
"The pair were searched and one of the men was arrested having been found in possession of a knuckle duster.
“A thorough search of the surrounding area was conducted and no firearm was located.”
