FIREFIGHTERS freed a woman from a car after a crash yesterday afternoon (December 27).
Crews were sent to Whitstone Road, Shepton Mallet, at around 4.20pm on Friday afternoon, a Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.
"On arrival crews confirmed that the incident involved two cars and that a female person was unable to get out of one of the vehicles," he added.
"Fire crews removed the passenger side door using hydraulic rescue equipment, small tools, stabilisation equipment and glass management, this enabled the female occupant to exit the vehicle.
"First aid was administered while awaiting arrival of ambulance," they added.
The condition of the woman is not known.
