FIREFIGHTERS spent hours tackling a large fire involving a pile of hay overnight.
Crews were called to Thorngrove, Middlezoy, at just after midnight to reports of the hay blaze.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "A number of fire crews from the surrounding area have been dealing with a large fire involving a pile of hay overnight at the above location.
"The hay pile measured approximately 15m by 15m and crews used a compressed air foam jet, two hose reel jets, two attack jets and two dams from the water bowser.
"The incident has now been handed over to a responsible person from site."
The cause of the fire was determined as accidental, the spokesperson added.
