DUNSTER came alive at the weekend as an annual event returned.
Dunster By Candlelight took place on December 6 and 7, this year with a Victorian theme.
A spokesperson for the event said: “This year we had a Victorian Theme and despite the cold we had some lovely Victorian Costumes. We had a competition for this and we will be announcing the names of the winners soon.
“The committee work really hard all year long. So much has to be put into place early on in the year. This year we had a new Event Co Ordinator, Dean Lee, and he had to take an awful lot on board.
“What with the buses, the road closures, the barriers, the Christmas Tree and the lights. The Christmas tree came from the Dunster Estate and Dean and Western Power did justice with the lights.”
The event features many different aspects, with carol singing, entertainment and food. Musicians performed a range of brass, wind and folk music.
There was also a Victorian flea circus for the first time.
The spokesperson added bus company Ridlers did the team proud in providing transport for the event.
