DOZENS of Watchet residents have been able to enjoy a good read this week thanks to the refurbishment of an old bus shelter.
Over the course of the autumn people from Watchet have worked together to fix, clean, scrub, paint repair and create a space for everyone to enjoy.
Books have been donated by local people to share, borrow, take and read.
Georgie Grant, the secretary for the Watchet Coastal Communities Team said: " So far it has been an enormous success with both young and old using the shelter."
The Book Stop is part of the Watchet Coastal Communities Team programme of community action called ‘Watchet Connects’ and is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, and DCMS.
The new Book Stop was launched on Thursday, December 5, with the town crier David Milton joining for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Those who attended were also treated to a warm spiced apple juice and a mince pie to help celebrate the occasion.
The Book Stop is at the far side of the Boat Museum on Harbour Road.
