Staff and volunteers are celebrating the reopening of St Margaret’s Hospice Care’s clothes shop in Bridgwater, six months after it was forced to close by flood damage.

The refurbished shop in Cornhill welcomed its first customers on Thursday, December 5, following a major renovation of the building.

In recent months, manager Lisa Passco and her team have been operating a pop-up clothes shop at the charity’s nearby furniture store in the High Street.

“We’re really excited to be back where we belong, especially now the shop is looking better than ever,” said Lisa. “I’d like to thank our loyal customers for continuing to visit us in our temporary home, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to our new-look shop.

“We have a great selection of Christmas cards, clothes, books and other gift ideas, so we’re expecting to be particularly busy over the next few weeks.”

John Aizlewood, retail and commercial director at St Margaret’s Hospice Care, added: “Bridgwater is one of our best-performing shops, so we’re delighted to have it open again.”
