BLACKBROOK Leisure Centre and Spa in Taunton was broken into overnight.
The centre has had to close its reception entrance this morning (Thursday, December 5) following the break-in, but the centre remains open.
Dan Coleman, general manager, said: "The police are on their way. We can't see that very much has been taken but there is damage to the front doors .
"We discovered the damage when we came in this morning. We have been able to open the rest of the centre but have had to close reception for the time being."
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We’re investigating a burglary which happened at Blackbrook Pavilion in Taunton in the early hours of today (December 5).
“The offender(s) have forced open a door and targeted a safe.
“Enquiries are ongoing. If anyone has information which could help us, please call us on 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5219/280629.”
