THE King Alfred School Academy will become the new home for the Burnbridge Wanderers in a unique partnership which will allow hundreds of children to play football in the community.
The football club, which was struggling to find a pitch for its players, will now have access to pitches and astroturf, as well have changing rooms, toilets, conferencing and meeting rooms.
Ben Adams, chairman of Burnbridge Wanderers, said “Without the school’s support, these players could have had nowhere to play football this season.
“The school is helping to facilitate our younger age groups playing here every weekend. Without the school’s support, these players could have had nowhere to play football this season.”
Principal Nathan Jenkins said: “This is wonderful news for the school, football club and entire community of Highbridge and Burnham.
"We are a true community school and believe in partnership for the benefit of everyone.”
