FIRE crews were called to a blaze at a home this morning.

Reports of the blaze came in at around 6.25am and led to five crews being sent to West Quantoxhead.

"Initial reports led Fire Control to believe that this was persons reported and mobilised three fire appliances from Nether Stowey and Minehead," said a Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson.

"An aerial ladder platform and water carrier from Bridgwater were also mobilised.

"Ambulance was requested to attend also."

On arrival, the incident commander confirmed there was a fire in a domestic property and got crews to work.

A further two fire appliances from Bridgwater and a Command Support Unit from Wiveliscombe were also requested and mobilised, the spokesperson added.

Following a thorough search of the property the Incident Commander confirmed that all persons were accounted for.
