THIS week in 1989 the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson came to Bridgwater, taking in Knowle Hall, BIBIC and Friarn Nursery during her visit.
Heavy fog prevented the Duchess’s helicopter landing so she made the journey by train and by car instead.
The Duchess saw the new wing and pool to help children’s treatment.
Seven-year-old Zoe Stretch asked the Duchess if Princess Beatrice was walking yet, to which she replied positively.
