MINEHEAD Town Council has responded to rumours of issues over staffing.
Rumours had been circulating on social media that there were potential issues regarding staff leaving the council.
Last year the council struggled to hold meetings for a period following the departure of the previous clerk before a temporary clerk and responsible financial officer were appointed.
However the mayor of Minehead, Cllr Sandra Slade, waylaid these concerns, saying that the council has ‘all the appropriate staff in place’.
Cllr Slade said: “As a general rule, staffing matters are confidential and we do not discuss them publicly.
“However, we have been going through some difficulties in the last few weeks regarding staffing but I can confirm that we have all the appropriate staff in place and the work of the Council is continuing.”
