A SPECIAL Meze Day event was held at the Green Olive in East Quay, Bridgwater to help raise money for Children’s Hospice South West.
Gill Brown, a prominent fundraiser for the charity, thanked the owner Erdal for hosting the event and putting on a delicious spread of food.
The fundraisers were joined by the mayor of Bridgwater Cllr Tony Heywood, and a total of more than 70 people enjoyed the event.
Mrs Brown said: “Children’s Hospice South West would like to extend thanks to Erdal and his staff for their hard work and kindness in making the day such a success.
“The event raised the fantastic sum of £750 for Children’s Hospice South West, boosted by an additional donation from Erdal.
“Thanks to this generosity, we are now able to help many more children and their families in a time of need.”
A raffle to raise further funds was held, with 15 prizes generously donated by local businesses on offer.
The first prize went to lucky winner Vicki from Taunton who won a £75 voucher from Loft Hairdressing.
