DETAILS for the 2019 Bridgwater Carnival Concerts have been announced.

The shows, seen as the curtain raiser for the full event, take place at Bridgwater Town Hall from Monday, September 30 to Saturday, October 12 and have been an annual feature since 1883.

More than 4,500 tickets are available for the 12 performances, where a cast of more than 600 entertainers from 13 carnival clubs, dance troupes and front of curtain acts will perform.

The concerts start at 7pm on weekday nights and 6pm at weekends, and the show lasts approximately for four hours - and people are being warned to snap up their tickets sooner rather than later.

Tickets prices range from £10.50 to £15 and can be purchased from the carnival centre, High Street, Bridgwater or from the online shop at www.bridgwatercarnival.org.uk.

Dave Croker, chairman of Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee, said: “Our carnival concerts are renowned throughout the county and they are a regular feature in the town’s calendar.

"We do still have tickets left for certain nights, and my advice would be if you haven’t yet purchased a ticket and would like to attend this year’s carnival concerts, then please get it very soon.”

At the 2018 carnival concerts, Gremlins CC won the top award for the second time in five years with their performance Wasteland 3000 (Danger Zone).
