A MAN was rescued by firefighters after a car rolled on top of him.
Crews from Frome and Somerset were called to an address in Wickham Rise, Frone, at just after 6pm.
They were alerted to the incident by the Ambulance Service, a Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.
"Shortly after arriving on scene crews confirmed the elderly casualty had been released from under the vehicle and they were in the process of rendering first aid, awaiting the arrival of a road ambulance crew and the Helimed team," they said.
"The patient is now in the hands of the ambulance service and was conveyed to hospital.
"After making the vehicle and scene safe duty of care for the incident was left with the police."
The man's current condition is not known. Firefighters left the scene at around 7pm.
