BRIDGWATER Choral Society has announced its much anticipated programme for the forthcoming 2019/20 season.

This year is the 70th anniversary of the reformation of the choir following the Second World War.

Mozart, Haydn, Vivaldi and Boyce are the four distinguished composers whose music will feature in the first concert of the season on November 30 2019.

The concert on May 16 2020 will include choral works by two giants of 20th Century music, Gerald Finzi and Ralph Vaughan Williams.

A spokesman for the Bridgwater Choral Society said: “ The society is a 60-strong, friendly and inclusive choir based in Bridgwater.

“Most concerts are done with professional soloists and orchestra and are performed in the glorious setting of St Mary’s Church, Bridgwater.

“Rehearsals start on Wednesday, September 4 and all new singers will be given a warm welcome.

“No audition is necessary and help is always at hand for those who are less familiar with singing the choral repertoire.

“If you are interested in trying choral singing please contact Peter Attwood on 01278-734588.
