THE site of a former Somerset pub could be developed into seven new homes.

Land formerly occupied by the Queen's Arms, at Wraxall, near Shepton Mallet, is on the market for offers in the region of £425,000.

It is being dealt with by development land and planning experts, Greenslade Taylor Hunt.

The site, which extends to 0.53 acres or 0.22 hectares, is located immediately off the A37 and offers 'outstanding' views across the open countryside to the south, the agent said.

"Mendip District Council granted outline planning permission in October 2018 for the partial demolition of existing buildings and the creation of five new build, three bedroom, detached properties plus a two bedroom conversion and a three bedroom conversion from the retained buildings," a Greenslade Taylor Hunt spokesperson added.

"The permission is subject to 20 conditions. All of the dwellings are open market and none are affordable.

"There is no Section 106 Agreement or unilateral undertaking attached. Therefore, there are no obligations or contributions to be paid."
