THE West Somerset town of Watchet was once again awash with colour for the town’s annual carnival.

One of only two carnivals remaining in West Somerset, the Watchet event once again attracted hundreds of participants and a large crowd to watch the procession.

The array of entries ranged from Alice in Wonderland to Happy Feet, Gnomes to the 1920’s with entries from dozens of local residents and organisations, schools, and businesses joining together to join in.

Popular town crier Dave Milton set the procession on its way on Saturday, July 27.

Watchet Live Carnival is completely run by volunteers in their spare time and relies on year-round fundraising. For more details see the Watchet Carnival Facebook page.
