WORK was underway this week in 2009 on a new £1.5million headquarters and training centre for the St John Ambulance.
The charity’s Somerset HQ was set to move from Taunton to a new site at Woodlands Court, near Dunball.
Commander of St John Ambulance Somerset, Gerry Webb, said: “It has taken a long time to get to this stage and we are thrilled at the prospect of being in occupation in the spring of 2010."
Plans were agreed for the development - including four large training rooms with smaller syndicate rooms, plus a conference facility for more than 200 people available for local community events.
