A BANNED driver has been caught drink driving TWICE in three weeks.

Stuart James McEwan, 35, pleaded guilty to both offences when he appeared at Taunton Magistrates' Court yesterday (Tuesday).

He also admitted two charges of driving while disqualified and two counts of driving without insurance.

McEwan, of Warren Bay Holiday Village, in Cleeve Hill, Watchet, was bailed for pre-sentence reports and will be sentenced by the court on July 31.

He was first stopped by police driving an Audi A4 along Long Street, Williton, on Saturday, June 8, when he gave a breathalyser reading of 40 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit if 30mg.

Police then pulled him over on Bath Road, Bawdrip, on Saturday, June 29, when he was at the wheel of a Suzuki vehicle. He gave a breath test reading of 61mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath.

Before he left the court, McEwan was ordered not to drive as part of his bail conditions.
