IT was a glorious year for the Puriton Players in 1999 as the group secured a number of awards.
After a production of Mother Goose, the amateur set up scooped gong after gong in a range of categories at the prestigious Cinderella Trophy Competition.
The Players won the coveted Spotlight Shield for the best all-round village production, the Youth Society of the Year award and the prize for the Best Village Sound Effects, as well as a number of other titles.
The youngsters of the group were also recognised by the judges as The Snow Bunnies won the Most Magical Dancing Moment award - being tipped to be stars of stage and screen in the future.
