Ken Trunks
BRIDGWATER'S Ken Trunks chose to help others to celebrate his 80th birthday.
Ken marked the occasion with a party at Bridgwater's Blake Hall on Friday, June 7.
However instead of asking for presents Ken asked for donations to the Ups and Downs South West charity.
His daughter was born with Downs Syndrome, and Ken has been collecting for the charity for almost five years.
He can often be seen collecting outside Angel Place and also at Bridgwater & Albion Rugby Club.
Around 50 people came to Ken's 80th, and he raised £330 for the charity.
"I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated, and thank you to the management at Blake Hall for hosting the party," Ken said.
