RESIDENTS turned out in good numbers to support a village fete in Puriton at the weekend.
The event was organised by the Bridgwater Brunel Care with the help of volunteers, and raised £1,600 to support Brunel Care clients.
"It was a fantastic event," said Brunel Care's Lauren Day, "The cake stall was amazing and we had lots of donations for the raffle.
"We were just really overwhelmed by the response from the community and delighted to have raised so much money to support vulnerable residents."
Lauren said the day meant a lot to the carers at Brunel Care.
It was the second time they had put on an event following one at Christmas, and will be looking at putting on more in the future.
"A big thank you to everyone who helped put Saturday's event together and to everyone who came along and helped make it a success," Mrs Day said.
