LOTS of people turned out to the annual Wellington Street Fair - despite the poor weather.

The event took place on Sunday, June 2, throughout the town centre.

The street fair is one of the main fundraising events for Wellington Carnival, which will take place later this year. It is organised by the carnival committee.

The event sees stalls line the town centre, with live music and entertainment taking place throughout the day.

Sharon Collins, chairman of Wellington Carnival Committee, said: “Would like to thank all everyone who attended our street fair. All though the weather was not what we had hoped for, it was well attended.

“We’d also like to thank all of the acts and stall holders for their attendance, as without them this event would not be possible.

“As chairman of Wellington Carnival, I would like to personally thank each and everyone of my committee for their dedication in putting on this event; as again without them this event would not be possible.

“Finally I would like to thank all of the local businesses, family and friends that very kindly donated raffle prizes - 54 raffle prizes in total.

“The raffle raised in excess of £300, so a big thank you once again.

“Here’s to a successful day and roll on June 7 2020 when we will do it all again.”
