WORK on the much-vaunted Glastonbury-on-Sea attraction is underway ahead of this year's Glastonbury Festival.

The new venue, a 60-metre pier, is set to be located near the Park area and construction work appeared to be underway at the weekend, when your County Gazette was at the site.

Meanwhile, the Pyramid stage is completely covered, the frame of the Other Stage is under construction, and the West Holts stage appears complete.

Fans will descend on the Somerset site from June 26, with the festival running until June 30.

Headliners on the Pyramid Stage this year are Stormzy, The Cure and The Killers, with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Sheryl Crow and Janet Jackson also set to appear.
