BRAIN power was the order of the day at a competition held in 1989.
Youngsters from St Joseph's School in Bridgwater had it in spades to come out on top at the Bridgwater District Chess Shield competition, for the 18th time in the school's history.
Pictured is the winning team, from left, Neil Fawle, Thomas Sperring, Shane Gill, James Colledge, Edward Doyle and Tom Hackney. The team went on to represent the county.
