THE Plough Inn at Holford may look a little different following a major £170,000 investment to undertake a revamp.

Local publican Chris Hayes put in £30,000 of his own money with £140,000 of Ei Publican Partnerships to install an orangery and increase the offer at The Plough Inn.

Chris took on the pub with Ei Publican Partnerships seven years ago having worked in a bar previously.

Ei Publican Partnerships regional manager Joy Jones said: “Since taking on the challenge of his own pub, Chris has worked hard to establish an excellent reputation for serving good honest pub food and excellent real ales.”

The recent investment has given Chris the opportunity to expand his food offer without losing the bar area after a new orangery was built.

The new space has also allowed Chris to begin offering the area for parties and meetings without losing the popular bar area.

Mrs Jones continued: “Having lived in the area for a long time, Chris understands the local trade, as well as the opportunity with tourist trade, so it was an easy decision for us to invest in the pub and ultimately Chris’ business.

“We very much look forward to seeing his plans for the pub unfold.”

The Plough Inn is based in Holford off the A39 and is ideally located for walks on the Quantock Hills.
