ENVIRONMENTALLY friendly students at Chilton Trinity have launched a School Eco Team in a bid to help rid the world of damaging plastics.
The students want to do their part to help stop the huge amount of waste affecting the environment.
To highlight the issue the Eco Team carried out an experiment, collecting all the rubbish from students over one lunchtime, and were surprised to see how much plastic there was.
Student Kate Gregory said: “We’ve all seen the devastation that plastic is having on our environment, and the statistics can be simply shocking."
The team suggested having cookies out on trays instead of sealed in plastic, and having the sandwiches in paper bags.
