BRIDGWATER College students sang their way to success at the prestigious Mid-Somerset Music Festival in 2009.
The show choir, directed by Kathryn Stevens, won two top awards – the Popular and Show Song Competition Cup and the Young Choirs Challenge Trophy – with a performance described by adjudicator Douglas Coombe as “vigorous, enthusiastic and so enjoyable”.
The college choir, directed by David Forde and Kathryn Stevens, then fought off strong competition to win the Lady Wilkinson Memorial Cup.
David Forde, section leader for music and performing arts at the college, told the Mercury: “We are thrilled."
