PLANS to build 175 homes to the south of Woolavington have been submitted this week.
The application, submitted by Pegasus Design on behalf of Wainhomes Severn Valley includes full plans to build 100 homes including 30 affordable homes, as well as outline permission for a further 75 homes.
The site in question extends approximately 6.7 acres and comprises undeveloped land to the south of Woolavington.
Of the homes of the market being planned, there would be six two-bedroom houses, 21 three-bedroom and 43 four-bedroom.
The affordable housing proposed includes three one-bed apartments, nine two-bedroom homes, 13 three-bedroom and five four-bedroom homes.
New access to the site will be created off of Woolavington Hill, there are also proposals for a children's play area and green space.
A consultation was carried out ahead of the application being submitted.
Although the response was relatively low, the most frequently highlighted issue was the perceived effect of the development on
traffic in the village - in particular the junction of Woolavington Hill (B3141) with the A39 Bath Road.
Others questioned how well the schools and doctors surgery would be able to cope with the additional demand from the development.
