WITH auditions for the annual Bridgwater Carnival Concerts fast approaching, Bridgwater Carnival has issued a ‘final call’ to local talented entertainers who would like to take part as ‘front of curtain’ acts at the 2019 carnival concerts.

Auditions for the Carnival Concerts will be held at the Bridgwater Town Hall on Tuesday, May 7 and those wishing to take part need to act fast by contact Anne Middleton at enquiries@bridgwatercarnival.org.uk for further information.

Anyone who has the talent to entertain can apply - vocalists, musicians, comedians, magicians, dancers and all round general entertainers are all needed for the popular concerts which this year will be staged from Monday, September 30 through to Saturday, October 12.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity of performing in front of the expected sell-out audience of 4,500 people during the 12 evening performances.

Dave Croker, chairman of Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, said: “We would love to hear from individuals and groups who enjoy performing on a stage in front of an audience.

"Each will have a five minute slot during the show, and will be positioned in between the 13 local carnival clubs and the two dance troupes, to create an entertaining variety show for the audience.

"If previous years are anything to go by, then the judges at the auditions will have an extremely difficult task in selecting the final 13 acts we need for the concerts.”

At the 2018 carnival concerts, successful front of curtain acts included Brandon Fuller, who won four trophies including best single vocalist for his rendition of A message from George III, and Viva La Diva who took the best song, dance, musical or novelty act award.

This year’s auditions are once again kindly sponsored by Anderson and Wall. The Bridgwater based garage, located in Church Street.
