BRIDGWATER'S New Look store in Cornhill is closed indefinitely following a large fire in March.

A month on from the fire which saw 15 fire engines battling through the night in the four storey property, bosses at New Look said the store will remain closed until further notice.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called at 7.42pm on Wednesday, March 13 following several reports from members of the public that there was a fire in New Look in Cornhill.

The crews were on site tackling the blaze until gone 1am.

Luckily no one was injured in the fire, which was firefighters say was started accidentally.

Overall 15 fire engines from across Somerset were sent to fight the fire and the building suffered 10 per cent fire damage and 40 per cent smoke damage.

There was damage to the shop, basement as well as the unoccupied flats above the store.

A New Look spokesperson said: "Our Bridgwater store will remain closed until further notice.

"Customers can continue to shop with us at newlook.com or head down to our nearest store in Taunton to shop the latest trends."

The clothing giant was founded in Wellington, Somerset in 1969 and now operates more than 900 stores across the world.
